What you’ll be doing

Working for the Production Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the timely and efficient flow of materials required to meet production schedules, whilst maintaining quality standards. Conferring with internal colleagues and external suppliers to resolve product issues and delays, determine progress of work, completion dates and inventory levels.

Below are a few other areas of responsibility:

  • Review the production schedule and work orders then identify shortages, bottlenecks and other interruptions from production information collected
  • Anticipate and prevent late deliveries
  • Administration of production documentation and records
  • Monitor performance of suppliers
  • Maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands
  • Contact suppliers to verify shipment details
  • Place orders for Production and MRO supplies
  • Liaise with internal personnel and suppliers to coordinate production and delivery activities
  • Ensure that delivery notes are processed in the correct manner to maintain stock accuracy
  • Resolve complaints and eliminate delays
  • Assist with the implementation of lean manufacturing objectives to minimise waste and optimise operational efficiency
  • Raising and processing works orders
  • Administration of quality documentation from the shop floor
  • Develop and improve the purchasing of product to help the logistics and cash flow.

What you’ll need to succeed

Need to know

  • Experience of Pegasus Opera would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and engineering drawings is a benefit

Need to have

  • A sense of urgency and enthusiasm
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to coordinate own workload
  • Good IT skills
  • Motivation to drive efficient processes and maintain accurate information

£18,000 – £19,000 per annum, 28 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays with an option to purchase 5 additional days, pension and personal development opportunities.
